A trip to The Silver Diva has been on my wish list for months. Yes, months! When my kids and I created our summer wish list I made sure The Silver Diva topped the list. My kids have been working their gross motor skills by running, jumping, skipping, and biking, but it was time for this momma to get in some fine motor practice. I decided a trip to The Silver Diva would be a perfect opportunity to work on those skills as well as make some handmade and personalized gifts.

As soon as we walked in they darted off in separate directions checking everything out. I had to remind them to, “look with their eyes and not with their hands!” There were just so many pre-made items to look at! We finally decided on making key chains for Daddy, Grandpa, and Abuelo.

We then headed to the back of the store and picked out a font. There were so many to choose from! When we finally chose one, a very patient Silver Diva employee guided us to a table and let us practice with scrap aluminum. My kids hammered away!

This same employee helped my son stamp out two key chains, while I helped my daughter (hand over hand) stamp out a third. The Silver Diva website does recommend kids ages 6 and up to come stamp, but my 2- and 5-year-old did great with adult supervision.

The Silver Diva has pieces in aluminum, sterling silver, brass, copper, pewter, and gold filled. We chose to make aluminum key chains, so we were able to take them home with us the same day. The other metals take approximately two days before being ready to pick up and take home. Our key chains were carefully placed in fancy packaging before we left. My kids were so excited about the key chains they just couldn’t wait to give one to their daddy! They gave him his as soon as he got home from work. I had a great time at The Silver Diva with my kids, but I want to plan a mom’s night out there soon!
