UC Launches Bearcat Affordability GrantÂ
Big news for prospective Bearcats! Beginning in the Fall of 2026, the Bearcat Affordability Grant will be making a college education at the University of Cincinnati even more accessible for Ohio residents. The new grant aims to provide a pathway to tuition-free college for students of families who make less than $75,000 per year and are Pell Grant eligible.
Freshman students admitted to begin classes in 2026 at all three UC Campuses can use the Bearcat Affordability Grant to cover any remaining tuition costs after Pell Grant and Ohio College Opportunity Grants have been applied.
“This grant program will be transformational for students, families and for this region,” shared Jack Miner, vice provost for enrollment management. “Despite their dreams and years of hard work, college is just out of reach for so many students and families. This grant will make dreams a reality for literally thousands of students.”
This amazing grant doesn’t just help Freshman, eligibility will be reviewed each semester. Full-time students in satisfactory academic progress will continue to have the grant applied towards their semester bill.
