Tour of Jellystone Park Cincinnati

We recently shared the news that Camp Cedar was no more and that Jellystone Cincinnati was taking its place and reclaiming its former fame! Cincinnati Family Magazine was invited to check it out in person, and we can’t wait to book a stay at Jellystone Cincinnati!!! Here is why…

If you are familiar with the Jellystone campsite brand, you know they are really all about bringing the fun to families at their campgrounds. If you are camping to relax and unwind, sure you can do that. But! If you are looking to keep the kids from saying, “I’m bored”, Jellystone is where it’s at. They truly know families needs, and offer so much variety in terms of their general attraction offerings, extra activities planned, themed fun and just the general thoughtfulness. We have stayed at cabins in several Jellystone locations, and can’t wait to see Camp Cedar’s transformation into the amazing Jellystone brand.

As far as the general attraction offerings at the Cincinnati Jellystone Campsite, families can enjoy A LOT. The list includes: fishing, nature trails, a playground, Gaga pit, basketball court, pickleball court, cornhole, shuffleboard, bocce ball, a pool (bonus: adults only pool!!!), fire pits, an arcade, and fitness center! The Greens at Jellystone Cincy is an indoor virtual golf experience for those who want to get a few swings in during their stay.  But wait! There is more: A huge jumping pad is being added very soon!

When it comes to those extra activities, families can look at the theme of the week and get ready to enter an immersive world of fun. The weekly itinerary will vary, but the level of activity excitement is always set to “extra” and “above and beyond”. Expect activities like foam parties, silent discos, crafts galore, candy bar bingo, wagon rides, s’mores around the campfire with new friends, field games, scavenger hunts and so many scheduled opportunities for kiddos to meet Yogi and his friends.

Speaking of themes, above you will find the lineup, which I snagged from the Jellystone app. If you want to up your camping ante, you are encouraged to dress up your RV, campsite, cabin or rental golf cart to match the theme. In past camping trips, we have seen inflatables, lots of glow stick necklaces, lights strung with care, matching outfits, dog costumes, etc. Is it “extra”? Maybe. Is it super memorable and insanely fun to just lean into the chaotic, kitschy fun? 100 percent.

The Cincinnati Jellystone stands out with a nice sit-down restaurant, but families who want to relax at their campsite can also order a pizza that will be delivered to their doorstep via golf cart. Wake up with some java from the Jellystone coffee shop—and a visit to the ice cream shop is perfect for those hot days that beg for a sweet treat. Families who forgot to make a snack run before their camping trip can make a pit stop at the general store, which also has necessities and super cute souvenirs, too.

Now that we have sold you on staying at Jellystone, you have options on how to stay.
Families can bring their RV’s, rent a cabin, and they also have the unique opportunity to rent an RV during their stay to feel what it is like!
