You heard it right: tickets are on sale for the The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati’s “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, Jr.” with performances taking place Feb. 5 – 14 at the Taft. Matilda is a musical based on the 1988 children’s novel of the same name. It premiered on Broadway in 2013 and ran for 1,555 performances, closing on January 1, 2017. 

The story will entrance and entertain your kids. Matilda is a little girl with a vivid imagination — and lots more. While Matilda is unloved by her cruel and bizarre parents the Wormwoods. She’s also armed with astonishing wit, intelligence, and mysterious powers. Because of her special gifts, she is able to navigate the difficulties that come her way. This production is ideal for ages 4 and older.

‘Matilda the Musical, Jr.’ and More in the 22 -23 Season

All of TCT’s Broadway-style MainStage productions are performed in the historic Taft Theatre, at 5th and Sycamore Streets in Downtown Cincinnati. Tickets start at $10.

And that’s not all. To add to the excitement, TCT’s 22-23 season continues with more anticipated productions.

TCT is bringing “Disney’s Descendants: The Musical” to the stage just in time for spooky season (Oct. 8 – 17, 2022). For next year’s holiday, TCT is doing “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr.” (Dec. 10 – 19, 2022), and little ones will enjoy “Princess & Frog” Feb. 18 – 17, 2023. Wrapping things up, “Disney’s Moana Jr.” will be at the Taft Theatre April 15 – 24, 2023.
