The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County has teamed up with the Children’s Hunger Alliance to bring after-school snacks to five library branches, starting this month.  The snack service program will offer items like milk, fruit, veggies and dip, oatmeal bars, yogurt, pretzels, string cheese sticks, cereal bars and muffins, along with shelf-stable snacks to have on hand in case of additional students.

After assessing how well the program serves the need of local students, organizers will work to expand the snack service to additional branches.  Snacks are delivered Monday through Friday (except holidays) and are for ages 18 and younger who are present for Homework Help or another after school program.  Service times vary by branch:

Avondale at 2:45 and 4:45 p.m.

College Hill at 2:30 and 4 p.m.

Pleasant Ridge at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Price Hill at 3 and 3:30 p.m.

Walnut Hills at 3 and 3:30 p.m.
