Now Open: The Reading Corner
Northern Kentucky families looking for new-to-them reads can book it to The Reading Corner. This new bookstore opened this month (January 2026) at 8361 East Main Street in Alexandria, Kentucky. Featuring used books, games, toys, gifts, and more, this bookstore is sure to be a big hit with the reading community and beyond.
Disabled US Navy Veteran, wife, mother, and full-time government employee Stephanie Wagner can now add “small business owner” to her many accolades. Always an avid reader, Wagner has always wanted to own a book store! During the 2025 government shutdown, Stephanie seized the moment to look for a location and financing. Determined with a vision, she signed loan papers and a lease within one week of making her decision to make it happen!
The Reading Corner opened on January 10th, 2026 with wonderful response and support from the community. Not only did Wagner fulfill her desire to own a book store, she also filled a neighborhood need. Wagner notes that she has been hearing, “We have needed this!” quite a bit in response to opening The Reading Corner! Beyond being a storefront, The Reading Corner is available as a hosting destination for book clubs, craft nights, game nights and more.
