Mermaids and Pirates have invaded Newport Aquarium! You have until October 15 to meet playful pirates and view majestic mermaids in their underwater oasis.

I recently took my boys for an afternoon adventure at the Aquarium, and they had a blast. They loved discovering hidden treasure throughout the aquarium, meeting Nova the mermaid, and joking with the pirates. Dominic reported the pirates being his favorite part of our visit, specifically the skeleton snake one of the pirates wore around her neck. Luca was in love with the mermaids. He was shy for the photo, and never spoke a word to Nova the mermaid, but as we walked away, he said, “I’m gonna marry that mermaid.” I wore Vincent, and I can testify that babies love the aquarium. The colors and movement really stimulate their minds, and Baby Vin was a happy camper the whole time.

As a frugal momma, I can tell you there is currently a Groupon running for this event! OR if you plan on coming back to tell Scuba Santa if you’ve been naughty or nice this holiday season, you might as well buy a membership (annual passes pay for themselves in two visits). That’s what we did!  If you’re a member, you’ll get big savings for events throughout the year, including the final Pirates & Mermaids breakfast this Sunday, October 15.
