The race we have all been waiting for begins with the P&G Health and Fitness Expo at the Duke Energy Convention Center today and finishes strong with the Flying Pig Marathon on Sunday morning.
The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon is a scenic riverside course which “flies” along the streets of Cincinnati, Covington and Newport, and through Fairfax and Mariemont to the east. This race presents a well-balanced, diverse tour of some the finest neighborhoods in the area.
Grab your best sneakers and tie up your shoe laces! Here is what the weekend schedule looks like:

Mascot Parade followed by Flying Piglet Kids’ Fun Run, 10 a.m. at Smale Riverfront Park
Hang on to your diapers! This adorable kids’ run begins at the riverfront in downtown Cincinnati. The Pampers Diaper Dash will start the competition for ages one and younger. Other activities include special entertainment, appearances by some of Cincinnati’s favorite mascots, a kids fun run for little’s 7 and younger giveaways and more! On-site registration will be available. Every Piglet receives an official Flying Piglet running number, official finisher medal and an exclusive Piglet T-shirt.
Cincinnati Children’s 26th Mile, 11 a.m. at Freedom Way
The best finish for hundreds of students who have finished an incremental “marathon.” This fun run involves thousands of area school kids over the three months leading up to the Flying Pig. Kids are rewarded for practicing healthy behaviors on their “Hog Log” including tracking their mileage and completing nutrition challenges. This is the perfect one-mile fun run for all ages!
PigAbilities, 12 p.m., Freedom Way
An event for participants of all abilities, their families and friends to walk, roll or stroll!
Flying Fur Race, 1 p.m. at Mehring Way
Owners and their furry friends run together for this quick, two-mile lap. Every dog finisher receives a medal – yes, the pups get one, too!
