Gold Star and the Freestore Foodbank are teaming up for the sixth year to honor our Greater Cincinnati’s flavor in a BIG way by crowning 13 local “Flavor Makers” for the second year in a row – people who advocate for the city’s flavor, add their own “flavor” to our city each and every day – all while raising funds for the Freestore Foodbank!

Just as Gold Star’s famous chili recipe has 13 secret spices, they are crowning the 13 Flavor Makers by giving a portion of proceeds to them and The Freestore Foodbank on National Chili Day. The Freestore Foodbank gives a seat to food-insecure neighbors, and you can help, too! Just by stopping by your nearest Gold Star Chili on National Chili Day Thursday, February 24 you will be giving back to the community – a portion of all sales for any and all menu items will go to the Freestore Foodbank’s Childhood Hunger Programs – School Pantry program, Kids Cafe and the Power Pack program – which ensure that children in-food-insecure households have access to nutritious meals.
