Do your kids love having neighborhood Nerf battles? Or enjoy jumping behind cover to avoid being hit? Parents, do you enjoy them burning off some extra energy in a safe, controlled environment? Then you need to check out Archery Arena in West Chester!
A recent visit had my entire family sweating AND laughing! We hosted a birthday party for my 8-year-old son and his friends. Since we had my 5-year-old daughter playing, we opted against the bow and arrow archery game and played multiple games of Nerf battles instead. It was so easy. Grab your goggles, grab your weapon of choice and head out to the court. An arena ref explains what game you will play (multiple options) and gets you started. We had 10 kids and two adults playing, and our ref did a great job of explaining the game rules and how to play. He was also very patient with my spicy 5-year-old who just wanted to get started.
It was game time – the darts and balls are spread across the floor as you spend time filling your weapon with ammo. The teacher in me couldn’t help but recognize what a great fine motor task this was! The kids had to work to get their ammo in! When the game started, I was ready to chase my kids down for payback for the socks they left on my living room floor, but joke was on me … all of the kids on the other team chased me down! (Check out my live Facebook feed on December 2) They were after me! I think they were excited to release their ammo on this momma!
As I ran away from the kids, I was frantically trying to figure out how I would stop and reload once I was out of ammunition. Luckily, Archery Arena set up our games so that we all had a break to refill – and catch our breath – although I think I was the only one that needed to!
Our ref guided us through red vs. blue, capture the flag, every man for himself and more. After 1 hour of play, my kids decided that capture the flag was their favorite game. It was fun watching the teams strategize and work together. After 1 hour, I decided I needed a parent’s night out soon to check out the archery!
The Pratt family highly recommends Archery Arena for a fun outing with your kids or even a parent’s night out. For more information on location, hours, pricing, team building and birthday parties, go to archery-arena.com.
