While the annual holiday show at the Krohn Conservatory offers plenty of tradition, it also offers plenty that’s new. This year, visitors can enjoy a new display of vintage decorations donated by the Schmalz Family, including the moving “Motionettes” displayed years ago in the windows of stores like Shillito’s and Pogue’s. Other additions include new Cincinnati landmarks to the Cincinnati Scenic Railway display and interactive elements for kids, along with the poinsettia display, the live Western & Southern Crib of Nativity with Mary, and special events like Santa visits (Dec. 8 and 15 at 1 p.m. and Dec. 12 and 19 at 5 p.m.), Krohn by Candlelight (Dec. 12 and 19, 5 – 7:30 p.m.), Dulcimer Performance (Dec. 26 at 1 p.m.), and the traditional End of Show Sale on Jan. 7, beginning at 10 a.m. This year, families are also invited to take an “Elfie” — a photo of themselves at the Krohn to enter into a random drawing for a $100 Macy’s gift card and a four-pack of passes to the Krohn’s 2014 Butterfly Show (photos must be submitted by Jan. 5).
Admission to the Holiday Show is $7 adults, $4 ages 5 – 12, and free for ages 4 and younger. The Krohn is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Visit cincinnatiparks.com for an online coupon!
