Two orphaned American black bears now call the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Zoo home. Hazel (brown fun) and Juniper (black fur), who received health checks and a clean bill of health, are residents of the new habitat Bear Ridge. Their outdoor habitat includes a waterfall, climbing rocks and even a hammock! American black bears don’t mind the cold as much as some of the zoo’s other animals, so be on the lookout for them this month! Bear Ridge is also be home to Sea Otter Coast, another North American species that can handle lower temperatures. Visit the zoo’s website at cincinnatizoo.com for more information on this new zoo habitat.
