Can you believe it is already December? I am always looking to have a holly jolly good time with my family – I love celebrating the holidays! The Holiday Season Kickoff at the Taft Museum was a great way to start the season.

The decorations were breathtaking. There was so much to look at from antique ornaments to artifacts and architecture; it was taking a step back in time into what was once a private residence. My son got to make an ornament, listen to a story being read, visit Santa and he even had a special encounter with Randy (female) the penguin who waddled in from the Newport Aquarium. My son’s favorite part was making an ornament and coloring a letter to send off to Santa. He didn’t want to stop!

This was a fun holiday activity my family and I got to enjoy, and there is so much more where that came from:

Antique Christmas (Open through January 5, 2020)
Features antique ornaments displayed on little trees and antique figurines proudly boasting in display cases.

The Poetry of Nature (Open through January 12, 2020)
Enjoy looking at beautiful landscape paintings while learning about the history of this art.

Afternoon Tea (Friday, December 13, 20, 27, 2 and 2:30 p.m.; Saturday, December 7, 14, 21, 28, 2:30 and 3 p.m.)
Pairs well with Antique Christmas and The Poetry of Nature.

FREE Holiday Concert (December 8, 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.; reservations recommended)
Listen to the sounds of the season with the Northern Kentucky Brotherhood Singers.

The Taft Museum is a unique place to visit year-round with tons to enjoy such as Sunday Funday (family-fun activities every third Sunday of each month except December); Young Masters Studio (art making for recommended ages 9 and older); and Taft Jr. (an exciting interactive program for children ages 3-5).
