The benefits to working from home, or being a stay-at-home mom are glorious, but challenging. It’s a balance between work, getting help and play, and finding the right time to take a breaks with your kids. I do love having the flexibility to discover engaging activities in the local area. My two year old needed a change of pace, so I came across Songs for Seeds in Blue Ash. We were both in love!
Now located inside Reflexions Dance Arts, Songs for Seeds really knows how to stick out from the crowd with their jammin’ three-man band. They create a continuous flow of activities which really worked for my little girl or any kid who gets sidetracked easily (what kid doesn’t)?
We were greeted with a smiley welcome since it was our first time taking a Songs for Seeds Kids Music class, and the music never stopped rockin’! One of the band members / teachers went around in the circle, allowing all of the littles to introduce themselves as the talented guitarist strummed a song to each name.
Each class is unique with its own musical genre theme – that week was songs from the 90s, and my heart melted when they played “Wonderwall” by Oasis. It’s for the parents to enjoy, too! They laid out instruments for the kids to freely play along, then it was bubbles, magic tricks, learning letters, dancing, sing-alongs and clapping. It’s a big kids’ music party all in one, engaging 45-minute session.
Before we left, all of the kids had the chance to sing into the microphone and even give the big drums and guitars a try (with guidance and supervision of course). My little girl had a smile on her face from beginning to end!
Songs for Seeds also does special sessions, birthday parties and events throughout the year, along with charitable classes. For example, we went to a Cookies for Cancer class where each family had the option to donate and help raise funds for research and development for less toxic treatments for pediatric cancer, and each kid got cookies and a sticker.
Songs for Seeds classes are for newborn – 6 years old. To learn more about Songs for Seeds and give one of their FREE demo classes a try, go to songsforseeds.com/oh/cincinnati/.
