Every mother deserves a night out, and I have the perfect idea for a mom’s outing that will leave you and your girlfriends laughing until you cry!

Motherhood Out Loud is a production currently being performed at the Carnegie theatre in Covington. The show follows the complete journey of motherhood with all of its extreme highs, and lows. During the show you are introduced to mom’s, stepmoms (and a dad, and a son) in the thick of it. They are experiencing all things parenting from childbirth, to their child’s first day of kindergarten, the first day of college, and beyond.  Life as a mom is a rollercoaster, sometimes you could kiss your kid until they are pink in the face, other times you are pushed to the brink of insanity and left screaming profanities. The show hits the nail on the head with each scene.

I was laughing until I cried for many of the MOMents. Then the next scene would take a more serious tone, and pull on my heart strings (which would also yield tears). I left the show having laughed, and cried. I also felt the need to hug my babies. I use the term “babies” loosely… my kids are 6, 4, and 1, but the show reinforced the belief that they will always be my babies.

Whatever age your kids are, you will certainly be able to identify with many of the moms you meet in Motherhood Out Loud. You’ll be able to say “I’ve been there, done that”, “This is me right now”, or “One day, this will be me”; It is deeply comforting to know that you are not alone in this journey called motherhood. We are all doing the best we can- and it is okay, maybe even necessary, to have a good laugh or good cry about the task of raising humans. I thoroughly recommend this show, and the show’s signature drink (The Mommy Dearest) to you, and all the moms in your life, tickets for Fri/Sat/Sun April shows are available online at: https://thecarnegie.secure.force.com/ticket#details_a0S61000003eKJfEAM
