On Friday, September 15, Fifth Third Bank hosted its 12th annual Tee Off for Project SEARCH golf outing at the City of Mason Golf Center. Project SEARCH is a transition-to-work training program that provides marketable and competitive skill-building opportunities to young adults with disabilities. Over the last 12 years, the golf outing has raised $1.2M for Project SEARCH. This year, more than 155 golfers participated in the outing and it raised more than $155,000 for the program.

Through the years, Fifth Third has trained more than 260 young adults through its three Project SEARCH programs, two in Cincinnati and one in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Project SEARCH, which started at Cincinnati Children’s, operates at 450 other sites around the world. Last year, approximately 2,700 young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities received employability and job-skills training through the program worldwide, and an estimated 1,900 of those achieved competitive employment in their communities.

The funds raised during the golf outing will be used to support implementing the Project SEARCH program for additional students.
