Beautiful morning!
Spending time in Covington,
with my family.
My family recently decided to spend a beautiful morning in Northern Kentucky’s Covington.
Our first stop was the Covington Farmer’s Market, located near the Roebling Bridge, and open on Saturdays. We browsed the dozen or so vendor booths. My kids enjoyed naming all of the foods they saw, and learning the names of some unfamiliar ones, too! We were able to procure some delicious loaves of bread from Bean Haus and some absolutely beautiful heirloom tomatoes and garlic from Greensleeves Farm. After purchasing our goods, we sat in the grass near the market and listened to a street musician’s sweet tunes. The market has great, laid-back energy and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to stock up your kitchen!
Our second stop of the morning was Piper’s in Mainstrausse for a sweet treat. We ordered some soft serve and walked over to Goebel park. My dudes delightfully dined on their treat before enjoying the playground. Goebel Park has a great setup with tons of slides and swings! They also have…GOATS! If you walk down the ramp behind the playgrounds, there are goats at work, eating and clearing weeds from the hillside. It is truly a sight to be seen, and heard! There was a very vocal goat saying hello to us on our visit! My kids said “maa maaaaaa” right back to her.
We had a wonderful time exploring Covington! You should definitely check out their farmer’s market and the Goebel Park goats some time.
