All Aboard! at Highfield Discovery Garden is a great way for kids to get into fun train activities while enjoying the indoor winter train display! Daily activities vary. The next Winter Hike Series takes place Saturday, January 4 10 a.m. at Winton Woods! Get the whole family outside and moving this winter for their annual Winter Hike Series. It includes a challenging hike through Winton Woods, and concludes with a hot, and tasty bowl of chicken noodle soup. Winton Woods is located Registration required. $9 per person per hike, ages 12 and older; free for ages 12 and younger, must be accompanied by a paying adult. Senior Girl Scouts: Starry Skies takes place Saturday, January 4 at 10 a.m. at Sharon Woods/Sharon Centre. Gather up your Senior Girl Scouts and let them observe the starry, night sky! They can explore the sky while in an inflatable, indoor planetarium all while working toward their Senior Sky Badge. Learn ways to keep the skies safe and beyond! Sharon Woods/Sharon Centre is located at 11450 Lebanon Road, Sharonville; $7.50 per person, one adult for every 10 scouts is free; register by January 3.
Spring Training for Backpacking takes place Saturday, January 4 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost. Learn tips on how to start planning ahead and prepping for backpacking in the spring. then get your pack prepped and head out for a one-and-a-half-mile hike! For ages 12 and older. Winton Woods/Adventure Outpost is located at $10 per person; register by January 1.
Daisy Girl Scouts: Space Science Explorer is Sunday, January 5 at 1 p.m. at Sharon Woods/Sharon Centre. Your Daisy Girl Scouts can explore the sun, moon and stars! Head outdoors for sun activities and then head back in to observe the night sky in the inflatable, indoor planetarium. $7.50 per person, one adult for every 10 scouts is free; register by January 3.
Story Time in the Forest takes place Monday, January 6 at 12 p.m. at the Summit Center/Great Parks Nature Center. Attend this interactive, nature-themed story time under the branches of the Summit Center Tree; it’s FREE! The Summit located at Summit Center, 1580 Summit Road, Cincinnati.
