Things We Like: Rescue Runts

My kids are at an age where they are starting to ask about getting a family pet. While I am not quite ready to open up our hearts and home to a new pet, I know that when we do, we will be adopting a pet from a shelter.

Working on his “puppy dog eyes”

The Rescue Runts is a line of toys that teaches kids all about animals that need a helping hand. Your child can use their fine motor skills to remove bugs from their Rescue Runts pup with the help of tweezers. They also can clear the tears from their pups eyes, perk up their ears, scrub the mud from their paws, and bandage their boo boos. After brushing their new best friends fur, they can pick a name for them and write it on the canine’s collar. This toy is totally cute, and allows you to have a teachable moment with your child.

Hard at work!

As my son and I played with his new Rescue Runt, “Blue”, we discussed shelter animals, and the need to take care of them. He grew concerned, so we decided to call our local shelter to see if they needed any donations. They were so grateful when we dropped off some food for the shelter animals! What a great learning experience.

If you are looking for a cute toy for your animal-loving child, a Rescue Runt is sure to be one they would love.
