New Year’s Eve for Families

You don’t have to keep the kids up until midnight to celebrate the New Year, there are plenty of happenings that get the party started early for little ones.

A Noon Year’s Eve Party on Dec. 30 features a family-friendly countdown complete with crafts, snacks, music and dancing, all followed by a balloon drop and soda pop toast at noon.  Head to the Covington Branch Library (502 Scott Blvd.) at 11:30 a.m.  Call 859-962-4077 or visit kentonlibrary.org.

Join the Hap-pea All Year story time on Dec. 31 at 11 a.m. Barnes & Noble West Chester (9455 Civic Center Blvd.) for some fun with the peas from the bestselling LMNO Peas book.  Call 513-755-2258.

It’s a New Year’s Eve Party for the whole family at the Behringer-Crawford Museum (1600 Montague Road, Covington).  From 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Dec. 31, families will enjoy crafts, games, a light lunch and a toast to 2017.  Cost is $5 members, $10 nonmembers, and free ages 2 and younger.  Call 859-491-4003 or visit bcmuseum.org.

Woodland Mound (8250 Old Kellogg Road) will host a Family New Year’s Eve Celebration on Dec. 31 from 4 – 7 p.m.  Enjoy music, games and crafts to celebrate the New Year, along with live animal programs, face painting, a magician and dancing to a live band.  RSVP is required, so be sure to call 513-521-7275 or visit greatparks.org before you go.
