Cincinnati Museum Center

After years of necessary structural restorations and exhibit hall closings, local families are overjoyed to get back into the Natural History & Science and History Museum at CINCINNATI MUSEUM CENTER. With classic favorites like Cincinnati in Motion, The Caves and OMNIMAX reopening, new dining options, the return of special events like 1940s Day (August 10) and the addition of an amazing special exhibit Egypt: The Time of Pharaohs (through August 18) there are now more reasons to visit the CMC! Call 513-287- 7000 or visit cincymuseum.org.

Cincinnati Observatory

Commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing with a trip to the CINCINNATI OBSERVATORY. This historic local landmark will be hosting a celebratory, out-of-this-world family event on July 20 from 1 – 4 p.m. Enjoy hands-on activities, crafts, rocket launches, face painting, moon rock displays, astronaut food tasting, a moon selfie station, sun viewings and more for $15 per person / $12 per observatory members. Tour the building, explore the galaxy with telescopes and enjoy more STEM learning year-round – visit the observatory website for calendar details. Call 513-321-5186 to register for the Anniversary Celebration or visit cincinnatiobservatory.org.

Coney Island

CONEY ISLAND has a new attraction open this summer, Cannonball Cove. Swimmers can take a turn diving, jumping and cannonballing from one of three diving boards — the highest of which is 9 feet high in the air! Head back to Coney on September 21 for Fire Up the Night – the only international Fireworks Competition in the U.S. — featuring a spectacular show by Rozzi’s! Call 513-232-8230 or visit coneyislandpark.com.
