Money Matters Meal Night

Congrats to the Boone County Public Library , which has once again received a $100,000 Smart investing@your library® grant to offer financial education opportunities to everyone in the community, from preschoolers to senior citizens. The Library is using some of the funds to bring back its popular Money Matters Meal Nights in January, April and July.

The Main Branch (1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington) will offer a free workshop called “Money Matters Meal Night: Basics of Budgeting” onWednesday, January 21 at 6 p.m.  Age-appropriate programs for all ages, from preschoolers to adults, will be offered at the same time and include a free meal for all participants. The children’s programs include:

  • Play and Learn (ages 2-5): Step into a grocery store, house, and a vet clinic to help your child learn preschool math and money concepts.
  • Bunny Money (grades K-2): Let Max and Ruby help you save your money! Enjoy games and activities surrounding Rosemary Wells’ Bunny Money.
  • Beans or Bust! (grades 3-5 and middle and high school): Cash in your jelly beans to balance your budget in this edible game before you go belly up.
