Mom Report: Ring of Fire

Ready to explore something new with your family at the Newport Aquarium? Ring of Fire: World of the Octopus recently made its public debut.

The former jellyfish room has been artfully remodeled to house this breathtaking exhibit. Lights and sounds will immerse you in the thunderous world that the Japanese Spider Crab, Moon Jellyfish, and Giant Pacific Octopus call home- the ring of fire. Your kids will love taking pictures with the larger than life spider crab mural, and they will probably imagine a giant octopus tentacle wrapping around them when they see the model tentacle. So fun!

We found ourselves most impressed with the actual animals of Ring of Fire- we were mesmerized as we watched the moon jellyfish drift effortlessly in their enclosure, wowed by the octopuses more than 2,000 suction cups, and awestruck by the spider crabs spindly legs!

Of course we also enjoyed all of the other Aquarium fan favorites like Stingray Hideaway with its underwater tunnel, Gator Alley with 800 pound Mighty Mike, and the Shark Bridge with its suspenseful tightrope-esque walk above sharks. The penguins were particularly entertaining to my boys during our visit, they were swimming and becoming airborne!

You never know what you will see at the aquarium, are you looking to experience the aquatic adventure year round? For a limited time only, Groupon is offering memberships at up to 46% off! Go get your credit card and order right now! This offer will NOT last long!!!
