Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast are great friends until they realize that there is ONLY ONE DROP left of maple syrup. Adults and children were giggling throughout the entire food fight.
Barnes & Noble does a great job of highlighting new books with a read aloud followed by activities for kids to do. Our most recent trip to Barnes & Noble story time included Lady Pancake & Sir French Toast by Josh Funk and Peanut Butter & Cupcake by Terry Border. My local Barnes & Noble does checks for comprehension, explains vocabulary words, and asks about text to self-connections during the read aloud.
My husband and I can be caught sitting on the tiny benches listening to the stories too! We also enjoy doing the activities with our kids which have included coloring storybook characters, dot to dots, making bookmarks, and making rhymes. I am constantly checking our local store calendar to see what fun books are coming up next and of course, after every story time, we walk out with new books.
