Mom Report – Axe Throwing at Full Throttle

Full Throttle Indoor Karting in Cincinnati is way more than go-karting. My family was given the opportunity to visit Full Throttle on a Sunday afternoon to experience their new axe throwing experience and more!

We started with go-karting. My husband, Nick; our two sons, Josh, 26, and Joey, 19; our daughter, Andi 19; her boyfriend DJ, 19; and I took on the Rush Track after watching a safety video and putting on helmets. The 11-corner track provides flowing turns that allow multiple racing lines. Nick, Joey, DJ and Josh all lapped me and Andi several times. The two of us had fun, but the guys definitely took advantage of how fast they could go on the track. Andi and I sat out on the Adrenaline Track so that I could take pictures. The guys loved that they could go up to 40 mph on this quarter-mile-long track.

We worked up a sweat and a lot of adrenaline on the racetrack, so we hit up the concession stand before throwing axes. Axe throwing is the latest craze. You literally throw a sharp axe at a wooden target in 20-foot-long cages. As Full Throttle’s website boasts, “It’s like turbo-charged darts on steroids.” All six of us loved this. It was exciting and different. We broke up into teams and played to 52. Joey, Nick and I beat Andi, DJ and Josh by just a few points. It took me several throws to get an axe to stick in the wood, but I was so proud of myself once I did. Axe throwing is an awesome way to get any stress out. I know it sounds dangerous, but the experts at Full Throttle give you all the safety and training you need.

Axe throwing is for ages 14 and older and cost $20 per hour, per person. Pro Kart Racing is also for ages 14 and older and starts at $24 for the first race. Discounts are applied the more races you purchase. Ages 7-13 will have fun with the Junior Kart Racing with speeds as fast as 22 mph. Pricing starts at $19 per hour. Even the little ones can enjoy racing in on the micro course where they can go 6 mph starting at $7 per race.

Full Throttle offers speed camps, birthday parties, corporate events, leagues and group events. It also has slot car racing, a pool table, a few video games and a photo booth. More information and detailed pricing, go to gofullthrottle.com/. My family will definitely be back for racing and axe throwing. And, I will probably go axe throwing with a few girlfriends.
