It’s not uncommon for children to lose track of important — and sometimes valuable — things, and now the world of lost and found has never been more high-tech and easy for Good Samaritan’s to do a kind deed.
The FinderCodes Kid Stuff Lost & Found Kit comes with seven adhesive tags and two plastic tags with stainless steel rings. Each tag has a QR code with a specific ID number. Download the free FinderCodes app on your Smartphone (or log-in to the website, findercodes.com) and register your free account. Then enter each of the QR codes that you’ve attached to specific items (laptop, helmet, camera, backpack, computer bag, etc.). You can even specify if there is a reward for an item’s return and how much you’re willing to pay. The tags themselves specify that scanning the QR code will contact the owner.
Should an item become lost and an honest Abe finds it and has a Smartphone, all he has to do is scan the QR code and through the FinderCodes software, he can send a message to the owner that the item has been found.
What’s more, the second someone scans the QR code, FinderCodes sends a text message to the owner alerting him that the lost item has been found and with GPS technology, it includes a link to a map of the finder’s location (from the place the scan took place).
It’s easy to use and one of the most innovative products we’ve seen in a long time, not to mention it’s made in the U.S.A. Two thumbs up! There are other kits available, too, with different assortments of tags for electronics, pets, babies, travel and more. Available for $24.99 at Office Depot or at findercodes.com.
