The Cincinnati Nature Center (4949 Tealtown Road) invites families to enjoy an exhibit from a beloved artist at the Charley Harper Art Show: A Rare Bird in Nature. Chip Doyle, curator/archivist for Charley Harper Art Studio, will show examples of Charley’s renowned “minimal realism” ranging from single cell organisms to members of the animal kingdom to ecosystems. Though based on sound science, Charley’s unique designs have lent themselves to licensing for stationery and fashion products beyond the common definition of what people think of as “wildlife” art.
While visiting the exhibit, pick up some great holiday gifts! Enjoy the new book, Harper Ever After: The Early Work of Charley and Edie Harper, new Charley Harper tiles by Motawi, framed and unframed silk screens, prints and posters, and receive a free set of Charley Harper’s Cincinnati Nature Center posters with a $150 purchase of Charley Harper merchandise.
The exhibit will open with a reception from 2 – 5 p.m. on Dec. 7, and will remain open through Dec. 31. For more, call 513-831-1711 or visit cincynature.org.
