Children lose about 20 teeth between the ages of 5 and 12 … so if the Tooth Fairy misses a night, well, she’s a busy little fairy! Â Here are strategies to help you if the absent minded minx leaves your child in tears:
Fake It!
According to Toothfairy.com, one way you can save face is to wonder around your young child’s room with a dollar hidden in your hand and then drop it somewhere. You can say, “Oh, look! Here’s a dollar! That Fairy must have dropped it without taking your tooth!â€
 Write a Note
You can scribble a note to your child from the Fairy that something came up … she had to have a wing repaired, or she ran out of gas, or there were so many teeth last night she had to make arrangements for several children to return the following night.
Never Forget Again!
The best way NEVER to forget about a Tooth Fairy visit? As soon as you learn your child has lost a tooth, place a piece of paper on YOUR pillow that reads simply, “Tooth!” Or put it on your mirror in the bathroom. That way, even if you forget, before going to bed for the night you’ll see your reminder.Â
