Indian Corn Craft

Get ready for Thanksgiving with an Indian Corn craft for kids.

What You’ll Need
Yellow paper
Green paper
Brown paint
Orange paint
Black paint
Scissors
Glue

What You’ll Do

1.    Cut out a piece of yellow paper in the shape of a cob of corn.
2.    With the green paper, cut out about four leaves.
3.    Glue two of the leaves together at the end to the bottom of the corn cob like it’s opening up.
4.    Glue the other to leaves together to the back of the corn cob.
5.    Take your paint and you can either finger paint in dots of different colors or use a paint brush.

Here’s another leafy craft for kids to do while enjoying the leaves that have fallen off the trees.

What You’ll Need

Big leaves
Crayons
Paper
Scissors

What You’ll Do
1.    Lay the biggest leaf you can find on the table upside down so that you can feel the veins of it.
2.    Set a piece of paper atop the leaf.
3.    Take a crayon and gently rub over the paper revealing the leafy veins below.
4.    Repeat that step with a different crayon.
5.    To get a different style, slightly move the paper each time you change crayon colors.

A “BEANy” Pilgrim Hat

 

 

 

 

 

 

A beany craft dedicated to pilgrims. This would be a nice complimentary piece to your festive decor during Thanksgiving and it’s a fun craft for kids to do.

What You’ll Need
Dried White Beans
Dried Black Beans
Popcorn kernels
Glue
White Construction Paper
Black Marker
Yellow Marker
Frame of your choice

What You’ll Do
1.    In the center of your white construction paper, draw out a simple pilgrim hat with a gold buckle.
2.    Color it in.
3.    Now, taking one bean at a time, glue the black beans to fill in where you colored the hat black.
4.    Glue the popcorn kernels to fill in where you colored in the buckle.
5.    For the remaining part, glue the white beans all across where white is showing.
6.    Set aside to dry completely.
7.    The size that you made your craft will determine the size of the frame you will need. Once the craft is dry, frame it and hang it for all to see.
