Cincinnati’s annual CancerFree Kids’ Butterfly Walk takes place at Cottell Park in Deerfield Township on Saturday, May 21. CancerFree Kids is dedicated to eradicating cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding research that seeks to find more effective and gentler treatments for children with cancer. Last year, the walk raised approximately $100,000 from more than 500 participants and 40 teams for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. In addition, funds were given to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
Families, friends and co-workers form teams to celebrate survivors and to remember children who have been lost to cancer. The walk features a timed 5K race, an inspirational one-mile walk in memory of kids who have battled cancer and a survivor ceremony. In addition, participants can enjoy food, games, activities and more.
