Saturday, Sept. 6

5K LEGENDARY RUN FOR THE CURE: Race through the shady course at Legendary Run for awards for the top finishers, or just take a walk to help benefit CancerFree KIDS and their fundraising for childhood cancer research.  Bring the little ones for a kids’ fun run that starts after the race, where all kids get a participation medal! Saturday, Sept. 13

2014 TRUMAN’S TREK & TROT: Join others for a fundraising walk that supports the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America, and benefits research on apraxia, a speech disorder in which those affected cannot communicate effectively.  Children with apraxia of speech will be recognized at the walk and families will have the opportunity to connect with others and gather resources. DISTANCE FOR DYSTONIA: Join other families in a walk through the Cincinnati Zoo to support the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation, which searches for a cure for people suffering from Dystonia, a movement disorder that affects several hundred thousand adults and children in the U.S. Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, 3400 Vine Street; 7:30 a.m.; $25 adults, $15 children; dystonia-foundation.org/cincinnatizoowalk.

KOMEN RACE FOR THE CURE: Support and honor the men and women who have battled breast cancer in this annual race hosted by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.  Join a 5K walk or run, as well as a Family Walk so that even the littlest members in your crew can participate too! Saturday, Sept. 20

BUBBLE BASH 5K: Bring the gang for running, walking, rolling, skipping, music, food, games, fun and plenty of bubbles!  Join a 5K run, a kids’ fun run and vendor fair in honor of Building Blocks for Kids, a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life children with health-related needs, including providing resources for therapy, medical equipment, hearing and communication aids and programs, and more.
