Real Cooking hit the nail on the head with their new Princess Cake set! What little girl doesn’t love baking and princesses? Real Cooking combined the two and created a kid friendly kit with real cake mix. The kit has everything you need except for milk, an egg, and butter. My favorite 3-year-old was able to make a beautiful princess fairy cake with the help of her 6-year-old brother.
When you open the box you are greeted with EVERYTHING (except the fresh ingredients) that is needed to make two princess cakes … the cake mix, fondant mix, cake stand, rolling pin, mat, cutting tools, princesses and more. The directions are clearly laid out and easy enough for a 6-year-old to read and follow.
Not only were all of the tools included, but everything was clearly marked and created with kids in mind. For example, the cake pan has a line that marks how much to fill it with batter. The rolling pin is big enough for little hands and has edges that help kids get the perfect thickness of fondant. The mat to roll on has numbered circles that helps guide kids on how far they need to roll out the fondant to make it big enough for the various sizes of skirt cutting pieces. Every tool was easy to use!
My kids thought that the best part was decorating the dress and then of course eating the cake. I thought the best part was that both of my kids happily worked together towards a common goal, the entire time giggling and complimenting each other. Not only did their cake look great, but it tasted amazing too!
