Thanks to a collaboration between Cincinnati Public Library and the Cincinnati Observatory, library cardholders can now check out one of five Orion 4.5 inch astronomical telescopes from Avondale, Elmwood Place, Madisonville, Pleasantridge and Westwood branches. Patrons will be shown how to work the telescope by a library staff member and there are instructional videos posted on the library’s website as well; checkout includes two eyepieces, a star chart and two books by Dean Regas.
The checkout period is 21 days, meaning lots of chances to look to the sky! Find out more by visiting cincinnatilibrary.org or calling 513-369-6900.
