Here’s a fun craft that becomes a sensory touch pad for little ones.
What You’ll Need
Big Ziploc bag
Picture of underwater scene
Colorful duct tape
12 oz. bottle of shampoo (or any gel you prefer)
Scissors
What You’ll Do
- Grab your Ziploc bag. We used a Hefty one, but any will do that zips shut.
- Print out a picture of an under water scene that will fit your size bag. If it doesn’t fit, just cut it down to size with your scissors. Since our bag was super big, we folded it in half and chose a picture to fit just half the bag.
- Pour the entire contents of your bottle of gel that you have chosen into the bag. Try to keep it all at the bottom.
- With all of the gel at the bottom, press all the air out and seal the bag.
- Gently spread out the gel. We spread our out to cover only half the bag.
- Place your image upside down on top of the gel-filled bag.
- Fold the other half of your bag over the back of your image. This step is only needed if you are not utilizing the full size of the bag.
- Cut off a piece of colorful duct tape to fit more than the length of one side.
- Gently set the entire bag/image onto half of the duct tape.
- Fold the other half of the duct tape over onto the back of your bag/image. Trim off the excess.
- Repeat steps 8 – 10 until all sides are covered in duct tape.
- Once that is done, flip it over and you can now press down on the bag and move the “water” around. Sometimes you’ll get bubbles. It’s fun to make the bubbles appear near the fish mouths.
