Today my son and I took a trip to our local library to enjoy a mini petting zoo presented by Metro Parks of Butler County. The presenter had an hour-long program on the lifehood of worms, toads, and snakes! She gave a ton of information on the food chain, including a spectacular demonstration that had everyone junping out of their seats! All the kids were fully engaged, asking tons of questions, and even I learned a thing or two! Metro Parks of Butler County will travel to various libraries, and it’s definitely worth checking out. Visit yourmetroparks.net for upcoming programs.
My son and I also went to our first ever Blue Manatee Children’s Bookstore “Manababies” Story time (pictured here)! Located in Oakley at 3054 Madison Road, blue manatee’s Manababies story time is open to ages 0 months to 12 months, who will experience songs, nursery rhymes, and stories! After story time we explored the place and let me be honest, childhood was revisited for sure! Remember all those picture books and Shel Silverstein and Judy Blume books you read as a child? Welcome back! The Blue Manatee has a magnificent selection of children’s books, and an inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to hang out with the kids and let them explore. There are also learning toys, and it’s obvious that the store’s mission is getting kids to use their imagination. That is very inspiring! The Blue Manatee holds various story times for all ages and I would suggest to put some time aside and check it out. Read a book a day with your child! Call 513-731-2665 or visit bluemanateebooks.com.
