When you think of the library, what often comes to mind is story time and checking out books. While this may be true, libraries offer a whole lot more than that! Take the Butler County MidPointe Library system, for example. MidPointe Library consists of four branches spread throughout Butler County, including West Chester, Middletown, Monroe, and Trenton.
Although all four branches are unified in their mission, they each have something different and special to offer! West Chester for example has a large meeting room so is able to host events like the Macy’s Art Sampler. West Chester also has a dramatic play area with such things as a mailbox and play house that promote confidence and literacy. Middletown is a great resource for local history and genealogical research. The Monroe branch has a coffee shop housed inside of the library. What is better than reading and sipping coffee? The Trenton site is focusing on programming that reaches a special needs audience.
The MidPointe library system has extensive programming, which appeals to all ages! Just look at the event page to see for yourself. Almost every day of the week there is a story time for a variety of ages. Some are registration only and others are drop in if last minute your schedule changes. The children’s’ programming ranges from literacy development through reading, boxes, and play to art projects and parachute classes. Additionally, there are events for teenagers such as Teen Crafts and Anime. Adults can participate in Yoga and Zumba as well tea tasting. See for yourself all they have to offer!

Also, the library provides proctoring services for such things as home schoolers and licensing exams. http://www.midpointelibrary.org/page/proctoring. School and home educators can also get library cards that allow them to check out more books than usually is permitted and keep them for longer periods of time. http://www.midpointelibrary.org/page/teacher-cards
With summer just around the corner many people become active and participate in outdoor activities. While important to be physically active, it is also important to be mentally active, and the MidPointe library can help you do that by making reading fun for all ages. There are incentives and prizes as well activities to motivate everyone to read this summer. The theme of the summer reading program is “Build a Better World.”
The library has something for everyone! So don’t judge a book by its cover as the old saying goes and see what MidPointe may have to offer you. www.MidpointeLibrary.org
