Along with many other parents, I was at a loss for ideas for what to do for my kids’ upcoming birthday. As much as I wanted to send out an abundance of invitations, there was no use. We chose to stay safe and stick to it throughout this crazy pandemic. My mind was spinning while I tried to think of some way I can make my soon-to-be-9-year-old’s, Will, birthday extra special. Then, the light bulb went off.

I remembered seeing the huge hard signs all over my friend’s social media pages and lines of cars parading down their street. This seemed like the safest option for us. When I discovered Cincy Yard Notes, I was ecstatic. They can personalize signs for the birthday kid, and they set up and clean up, too! It was a yes for me!

The price was reasonable, signs starting at $75, and you just call to customize and order. Easy peasy. As I organized the birthday parade and ordered all of Will’s Roblox decor, I just couldn’t wait for him to wake up to a gigantic “Happy 9th Birthday Will!” sign in the front yard.

Cincy Yard Notes really knows how to put the icing on the cake. The evening before the party, they tip-toed in our front yard after dark (around 9 or 10 p.m. – they were out there for a bit and I didn’t even know it!); this was the perfect time to set up – when kids are typically asleep – genius! They continued to discretely set up the humongous sign perfectly on our hilly yard – it was like it was meant to be there.

After breakfast the next morning, we walked Will outside for his first big surprise of the day. The excitement, shock and glow on his face made my day. “Oh my gosh! How did this get here!? So cool!” And this was just the beginning.

After having one friend over to swim, eat cake and play games, the successful parade came by the house with friends and family handing out gifts for him. What a day.

After the kids were asleep, I kicked back and put my feet up after an eventful day. I thought I heard the Cincy Yard Note ninjas cleaning up the sign, and the next morning – poof! Just like that, it was like it was never there.
