Plenty of good reads abound during the holidays, but one book in particular is getting a very welcome reception by Northern Kentuckians — because it’s a holiday book all about them!

About a year ago, Jennifer Sierra was looking for a Kentucky-themed Christmas book for her daughter, and struggled to find a title that fit the bill.  Rather than giving up, she just wrote a book herself!  Titled Merry Christmas, Y’all, the book tells the tale of Santa visiting Kentucky on Christmas Eve — not just to deliver presents, but to pick up some gifts as well.  After climbing out of the tank at the Newport Aquarium, Santa sets off to visit state treasures like the Louisville Slugger Museum, the Corvette Museum, the General Store in Rabbit Hash, and makes sure to pick up treats like Rebecca Ruth bourbon balls, a Kentucky Derby hat, coal from Floyd County, and more.

Families are invited to join a live reading and get a chance to meet the author on Dec. 17 at The Blue Marble (1356 S Ft Thomas Ave, Fort Thomas) from 1 – 2:30 p.m.  Chances are good, Sierra’s daughter might be in attendance as well, since the creation of the book has “really been a family affair,” she says.
