Mercy Health’s mobile mammography coaches have brought peace of mind to Greater Cincinnati women for over 30 years. Now, they are extending the reach of Mercy Health’s women’s centers to locations convenient to home and work.
Mercy Health’s mobile mammography team has changed lives across the region, with the potential to save a life in just 15 minutes. Just like all vehicles do, mammography coaches can break down as they age so it was time for some refreshing. Luckily, the The Mercy Health Foundation and The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health stepped in.
With a secured commitment of $450,000 from Mercy Health to support the purchase of a new coach – and additional funding and support from the The Wyler Family Foundation, Kroger Health and Ameritas and other donors – Mercy Health now has two, new state-of-the-art coaches which will support expanded screening efforts in the community, making it easier to ensure all women are regularly screened for breast cancer.
In addition, The Little Clinic locations throughout Cincinnati will also have mobile mammography screenings, anticipating to begin serving patients in the next few weeks.
Mercy Health’s mobile mammography coaches technology is capable of creating the most advanced and accurate screening tools available to patients; each coach has the very latest 3D technology – tomosynthesis – which improves the accuracy of the scans and reduces false positive results. Patients who visit Mercy Health’s mobile mammography coaches get immediate results and details about any follow-up testing.
