Here are a few of our favorite appetizers, dips and nibblies that are quick and easy to make … and quite yummy!
7 LAYER TACO DIP
Ingredients
1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) container sour cream
1 (16 ounce) jar salsa
1 large tomato, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 bunch chopped green onions
1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
In a medium bowl, blend the taco seasoning mix and refried beans. Spread the mixture onto a large serving platter.
Mix the sour cream and cream cheese in a medium bowl. Spread over the refried beans.
Top the layers with salsa. Place a layer of tomato, green bell pepper, green onions and lettuce over the salsa, and top with Cheddar cheese. Garnish with black olives.
HOT PIZZA DIP
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup pizza sauce
2 tablespoons chopped green bell pepper
2 ounces pepperoni sausage, chopped
2 tablespoons sliced black olives
Directions
In a small bowl, mix together the cream cheese, oregano, parsley, and basil.
Spread mixture in the bottom of a 9 inch pie plate, or a shallow microwave-safe dish. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of the Parmesan cheese on top of the cream cheese mixture. Spread the pizza sauce over all. Sprinkle with remaining cheese, then top with green pepper, pepperoni and olive slices. Cover, and microwave for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
KIERA’S WONDER WIENERS
Ingredients
2 packs of cocktail wieners
1 bag brown sugar
1 pack bacon
toothpicks
Directions:
Open the wieners and drain. Open bacon and cut the strips in half. Wrap each wiener in a strip of bacon and skewer with a toothpick. Place wrapped wieners in a Crock Pot or large roasting pan. Pour brown sugar over the wieners. If using a roasting pan, bake in oven at 375 degrees; if you use a Crock Pot, set on high and stir occasionally until the bacon is crispy.
BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP
Ingredients
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1 can (10 ounces) chunk white chicken, drained
1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
1/2 cup ranch salad dressing
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
Tortilla chips
Directions
Spread cream cheese into an ungreased shallow 1-qt. baking dish. Layer with chicken, buffalo wing sauce and ranch dressing. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
HOT SPINACH & ARTICHOKE DIP
Ingredients
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese
1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
salt and pepper to taste
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
1/2 cup frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a small baking dish.
In a medium bowl, mix together cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, Romano cheese, garlic, basil, garlic salt, salt and pepper. Gently stir in artichoke hearts and spinach.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Top with mozzarella cheese. Bake in the preheated oven 25 minutes, until bubbly and lightly browned.
CHEDDAR CHEESE BBQ CUPS
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef (or whatever meat you desire)
A bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
2 cans of biscuits
1 bag of cheddar cheese
Directions
Brown the meat (drain and rinse off), mix in BBQ sauce. Flatten biscuits one-at-a-time ever so slightly, then press biscuit dough into a muffin pan (pressing the biscuit down and up around the wall). Put 2 tablespoons of the BBQ mix into the biscuit. Bake in oven until golden brown (use oven temp as set on side of can of biscuits). Top with cheddar cheese.
SPICY CHEESE DIP
Ingredients
1 package of sausage
1 block of Velveeta
1 can of Rotel
Your favorite chips
Directions
Brown the sausage (drain and rinse). Cut up cheese into small (1 inch size) squares. Mix all the ingredients together into a Crock Pot and melt, stirring occasionally. Top with sour cream if you so desire.
