Volunteers are needed on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Sharon Woods (11450 Lebanon Road) to help make a difference in the local environment. Great Parks of Hamilton County and Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) are joining forces to plant trees in Sharon Woods Park, which has been hit hard by the devastating emerald ash borer. This effort is part of Great Parks larger Taking Root goal to plant 60,000 trees by 2016.
Volunteers will help by planting trees from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. A free lunch, t-shirt and water bottle will be provided by REI. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, but kids 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Sign up at greatparks.org/volunteer/one-time-volunteer or call 513-521-7275.
