Here’s a fun craft for the kids to enjoy … and it really soars!
What You’ll Need
Cheap competition sized Frisbee (or a standard size one)
Cheap plastic bowl
Silver spray paint
Stickers
Electrical tape
Cardboard box
What You’ll Do
- Center your plastic bowl over the center of the Frisbee. We got both of these at the dollar store.
- Use electrical tape to keep it in place. I found that the electrical tape held better than any other tape, well, except duct tape, but I didn’t have any of that on hand.
- Set the bowl-topped Frisbee inside an empty cardboard box outside.
- Have an adult or older child spray paint the entire thing.
- Let it dry completely. You’ll be able to pick it up without getting paint on your hands.
- Flip it upside down and put it back inside the box.
- Spray paint the underside of the Frisbee. Allow to dry completely.
- Once dry, add stickers for lights. You can really get creative with the decorations, but remember not to put anything thicker than a foam sticker on it or it will weigh it down.
- Now it’s ready to fly.
Believe it or not, this UFO flew quite well … and straight, too! The bowl on the top even lends itself to be a helper for little ones to catch the Frisbee. It’s pretty funny to see it flying through the air. Be careful not to hit hard objects! This is because, as with any cheap plastic toys, they can become damaged. But, it will still fly with minimal damage done.
