Cincinnati Children’s and First Ladies for Health are partnering for Family Health Day, taking place at 10 area churches on Sunday, Oct. 8.  A rain-or-shine event, the family friendly event includes free health screenings and flu shots for adults and kids. In addition, the event features raffle prizes, gift cards and food plus games and activities for kids. Dozens or organizations work with Cincinnati Children’s and First Ladies for Health to make the annual event (since 2014) possible.
“This event has been a blessing for so many in our community,” says Regina Lynch, first lady of New Prospect Baptist Church in Roselawn. “On several occasions through the years, we have been able to catch and potentially prevent serious health issues. We look forward to serving our communities each year.”

Free Flu Vaccinations for All Ages

All 10 of the participating churches will offer flu vaccinations at no charge for anyone 6 months and older. In addition, various locations will feature experts providing screenings for vision and dental. And screenings and/or information will also be available on asthma, sickle cell disease, Alzheimer’s, nutrition, cancer (breast, prostate, colorectal, lung, and ovarian), blood pressure, brain health, HIV, glucose screenings, health insurance (Medicare and Medicaid) plus maternal and child health.
