Things We Like: ‘Pina Panda – Adventures in Pandacornlandia’

We love local children's books - especially when our kids can relate, learn and find enjoyment out of them! You won't want to miss this brand-new read!

A Cincinnati area author, Charles Infosino, recently wrote the book, “Pina Panda – Adventures in Pandacornlandia” which is now on sale online as an e-book and a paperback. Infosino is also the author of “The  Unofficial Guidebook to Paramount’s Kings Island.”

Pina is Unipanda which is a panda bear with a unicorn horn on its head! Unipandas are magical creatures that have fun adventures. The story was written for a 6 to 10 year old audience as the short chapters are based on bedtime stories that were written by the author for his 8-year-old daughter.

The book is an easy read and the chapters are a good length for a bedtime story. My daughter enjoyed hearing about Pina’s adventures and making text to self connections with parts of the story.  She related to Pina’s disappointment over a trip being canceled due to COVID-19, and was excited for Pina to finally ride the big rides at Queen’s Island … as she herself just became tall enough to ride most big rides, too! She also enjoyed reading about Pina playing video games with her brother as she enjoys doing that as well!  There were many times that we paused in our reading and smiled to say, “we do that, too!”  I have a feeling this weekend I will not just be making pancakes, but I will be making Unipanda pancakes with tea. Pina Panda was a cute read that my daughter could relate to!
