Let’s Play: New, Inclusive Playgrounds for Kids

Just in time for the summer of '21 — new playgrounds for all! Check it out!

MAKINO PLAYGROUND (photo above)
In recent years, Cincinnati Family magazine’s Kidchella event has raised funds to support construction of Common Ground Makino Playground which is now OPEN! The beautiful, colorful, fenced-in playground boasts an assortment of slides, tunnels, rock walls, zip lines and more. Makino is truly a playground for all; there is a wide variety of equipment created for individuals with disabilities in mind. BURNET WOODS
A new play structure has been installed at 3251 Brookline Ave. featuring accessible attractions like a glider, disc swing and musical instruments. The playground has a safe surface. Visit cincinnatiparks.com for more information.

PNC GROW UP GREAT ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND
This playground will be one of the largest in the Cincinnati Parks’ system with a zip line, a fully accessible ADA swing, sliding hill, two climbing structures, gumdrop balancing pods and more. Set to open in late July, it will be located in Inwood Park (2450 Vine St., Cincinnati).
