Zoo-Going Tips With Your Kids
Enjoy these tips on how to make your zoo experience even better.
1. Take time to observe
You can learn a lot about an animal if you take more than a moment to stop and observe them.
2. Touch and Talk
If you’re going to a petting zoo or encounter an animal meet and greet, this is where you can get really hands-on. While you’re encouraging your child to touch an animal, ask them to describe how the animal feels. Does the animal feel hot or cold? Bumpy or Smooth? Wet or Dry?
3. Watch wildlife presentations
Wildlife presentations usually get you closer to the action so they should be an important part of your visit. Try to plan your visit before going to the zoo so that you don’t miss out on the presentation you and your child are most interested in.
