PRISMATICA Opens at Krohn Conservatory
Description
Prismatica is on display at the Krohn Conservatory beginning Saturday, July 2. Visitors will be immersed in a world of color during the exhibition; giant pivoting prisms will transform the Krohn into an interactive kaleidoscope of light and reflections!
About PRISMATICA
The installation is made up of two-meter-tall pivoting prisms that transform the space into a giant kaleidoscope of colors. The prisms are made of panels laminated with a dichroic film that transmits and reflects colors. The prisms are mounted on bases containing projectors. As you wander among and manipulate the prisms to rotate, you can enjoy an interplay of lights and reflections. Moreover, when rotating, the prisms make bell sounds.
Yes, people will manipulate the prisms to see them display colors to their full capacity. That’s why the prisms have a regular maintenance schedule that includes a deep cleaning with eco-friendly disinfectant cleaner, scrubbing, and a wash down.
