Strolling down Madison Road in Oakley Square, my 8-year-old, Will, asked, “Mommy, can we go in there?” He was pointing at King Arthur’s Court. Will and my 3-year-old, Eva twiddled their fingers in excitement. We walked in. Immediately, I knew this was going to be fun.
Newly renovated castle doors open to a world full of every toy you can imagine — and a cozy environment with pure play and enjoyment in mind for all ages. The wooden train sets caught our attention, then it was the royal purple stage with velvet curtains. The aroma of freshly popped popcorn and brewed coffee filled the air.
Beyond an abundance of Playmobil toys, Lego sets, STEM kits and other delightful play things, there’s also a gigantic T-Rex and The Dungeon room complete with a lounge for parents, hanging Hugglepods for kids, a kid-friendly archery course, a Mountain climber and even a zip line.
King Arthur’s encourages play and imagination — and we didn’t want to leave. I know I’m going back for what will fit perfectly under our Christmas tree!
