What is your educational philosophy? Mercy nurtures the development of the whole child by blending the Montessori philosophy with the values of the Sisters of Mercy. We prioritize building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable school.

What are the qualifications and experience levels of your teachers and staff? The school is known for its dedicated and experienced faculty, many with advanced degrees. Several staff members have served for over 30 years, some of whom are also proud alumni.

How do you communicate with parents about their child’s progress and daily experiences? We have an open communication policy between our families and staff. Families receive regular updates from teachers and a weekly email that contains school-wide information as well as classroom updates.

What is your approach to handling challenging behaviors or conflicts among children? Mercy incorporates peace education and the Peace Builders pledge. Conflict resolution is an important part of the learning experience. Guided by teachers, students are encouraged to collaborate and find solutions.

What health and safety measures do you have in place, and how do you respond to emergencies? Mercy has a full-time nurse, and our protocols align with the Department of Health. We have close partnerships with law enforcement and first responders and a robust emergency management plan.
