Kids First TOO: the story… so far…

To truly know Kids First Too, it helps to explore its parent company, Kids First Sports Center, the nation’s largest children’s sports facility located in nearby Sycamore Township.

A Dream, A Vision, A Reality

Kids First was created in 1998 by Jeff and Penny Metzger as the continuing evolution ofQueen City Gymnastics Center (est. 1975). Kids First Sports Center features over 24 acclaimed programs and venues, all designed specifically for kids. Along with our cornerstones like gymnastics, dance, swimming and basketball, KF is also the home to an assortment of outdoor activities, Book Bums cafe, summer camps and The Campus, an academic early learning center providing infant care through preschool and private kindergarten.

Our history with Recreations Outlet

In 2000, one of Recreations Outlet’s satellite locations resided within Kids First Sports Center.
In 2010, Recreations consolidated all their satellites into one, large facility in Milford and from that moment, our relationship flip flopped: Kids First became one of Recreation’s first tenants with 7,000 sq ft of shiny, new space! And Kids First Too was born featuring gymnastics programs for girls and boys as young as 10 months through the teens.

Since then, the families of Kids First Too have watched us grow by leaps and bounds and somersaults!
In 2014, we expanded from 7,000 to 13,000 s.f. and added highly requested children’s programming, Storm Cheerleading and Trampoline & Tumbling. New equipment and additional safety and training features included in-ground trampolines and foam-filled training pits. In 2019, we completed a lower gym renovation which expanded our competitive team space and added a

nother 12,000 sq ft of beautiful space to our Milford location. We have also since expanded inside and outside adding a dance room and staging space for our summer camp as well as a outdoor playground home for our day camps that is often used for special events and team events.
